He realizes with Ela’s help that he is not alone, and all the numbing and dumbing chemicals that blind them into a total, “happy” obedience and dreamless nights, are in their food. He sees with horror how they are all used as livestock providers of human energy – scientifically proven to be the purest form of energy. Even more shocking, he finds out that apparently without a reason he committed, to everybody's disbelief, self-“dumbification”. Before that, he was a well-known scientist, developing a method that would exponentially increase the energy extracted from humans, at great damaging consequences for them...
